Introduction
--
This is an exploit to allow arbitrary code execution from an unmodified PS2. Required is
an Action Replay MAX Evo v3.60 ( the one WITHOUT the media player ) and a memory card.
How it works
--
This program generates a code which uses the AREvo binary to load a ELF file from memory card.
This ELF file is a second stage loader which loades for e.g. UlaunchELF.
HOWTO
--
1. Preparations
Place the second stage loader on the memory card in the ARMax save directory with the name BOOT.ELF (capital letters).
For this use ARMax to copy the save to the MaxDrive and use PS2SaveBuilder to place the BOOT.ELF in the directory then place
it back on the memory card.
Open the provided patch.txt in Omniconverter and save as ARMax codelist.bin, place this codelist on the
Maxdrive and fire up ARMax.
Select the codes and rerun ARMax with the codes activated, the injected code is triggerd by launching the Memory Manager.

Further Thoughts

This approach could be used to make on the fly patching of the ARMax code in the way it is done to CB to make it for e.g. HDLoader aware.
Without the need of a chip or any other solution.
If anyone has a hint why compressed binaries can't be directly executed by this, feel free to contact me.
