Whether the calendars available in retail shops are too cutesy for your office or you missed the end-of-the-year calendar sale blitz, you’re never too far from a custom calendar of your own. Tap into your company software’s template collection by using Microsoft Excel to make a yearly calendar. Excel comes with a slew of yearly calendars you can make your own, including customizations for reminders and even placement of your company logo. With Excel, you’ll always know what day it is and what’s on your plate for the rest of the week, month or year.
1.Launch Excel and click the 'File' tab. Click the “New” option and choose the “Calendars” button in the middle of the Available Templates screen.
2.Double-click the file folder with the year for your desired calendar. The year of your software will determine the years of calendars available. For example, Excel 2010 offers 2012, 2011 and 2010 calendars.
3.Scroll through the calendar templates available for that year and double-click one, such as “Calendar creator any year” in the 2012 folder. Eu4 to vic2 converter guide. After a few moments, the yearly calendar will open in a new Excel spreadsheet window. The calendar is now complete, but there are many options you can do to personalize and customize it.
4.Click the 'Insert' tab and select the “Picture” button. Browse to your company logo and double-click it. Drag it into the top area of the calendar. This is an ideal way to emblazon the calendars if you’ll be printing them as promotional or end-of-year holiday gifts.
5.Click any date on the calendar that you want to make stand out in importance, such as September 29. Once that cell is selected, click the small paint bucket icon on the ribbon. By default, this will turn the date yellow, but if you click the button’s drop-down menu, you can choose a new color. Options include color-coding employees’ birthdays, appointments, executive meetings and more, all in different colors so you have an at-a-glance look at what’s happening in the months ahead.
6.Click another date in the calendar and select the “B” icon to boldface that date. You can also click the font color icon, which is an “A” with a red line under it. This will turn that date’s number red, but you can choose other colors. This is ideal when you want your calendar to show projected deadlines, what’s late and what’s upcoming, using red and green for example.

Tips
- Although Excel’s folders may show a limited number of years available for calendars, many of the templates themselves were actually designed to support any year you require. Opening the “Other calendars” file folder and double-clicking the “Calendar any year” template, for example, does open a 2012 calendar on the Excel screen, but at the top, there’s a “Manipulate slider to select desired year” function. Move this slider as far as you like -- it goes from 1900 to 9999 -- and all of the dates adjust.
- Unlike templates in Word, another Office Suite program, Excel’s calendars aren’t built to hold additional text. If you try to click into a date on the calendar and type “Annual Meeting,” for example, your text will appear as “###” symbolizing that it’s run out of room on the grid.
